Once again, Crawley Black History Month is bringing you
a wealth of cultural entertainment. There’s art, cuisine and
music from all the diverse communities that our town has to
offer. Do you know that Crawley has one of the most
diverse communities in the whole of the UK? This is something
to be truly proud of and enables us to share our community
spirit with others.
Over the last year, we have all had to tighten our purse strings
due to the economic climate we face, and much needed funding has reduced. But the support and efforts of all the committee members and everyone who helps to make Black History Month a success is still there in abundance, and for that I thank you all!
This year we have an array of events - warming up in August and September and continuing right through October. There will be a mini carnival, flavours of Barbados and the Caribbean to sample, and, as always, much fun and laughter. This year’s theme is, “Barbados and the Caribbean”, as Crawley is proud to host the Barbados Olympic athletes during their training for the London 2012 Games. Many events are free and are suitable for all the family. We want young and old to come together and for different communities to enjoy and share each other’s culture - we look forward to seeing you there!
